Coachworks was established in 1989 by Evan and Sue Isaacs. Coachworks is a Queensland based family company specialising in the building, repair and refurbishment of buses and coaches, including chassis modification and manufacture of specialised vehicles. In 2002 the General Manager's responsibiliities were handed to Scott Isaacs, who worked his way through the business since joining the company in 1991.
The Company employs a core workforce of 40 staff inlcuding 4 apprentices augmented by contractors and working partnerships through outsourcing and dedicated suppliers of parts and services to Coachworks.
The Coachworks facility located at Acacia Ridge, Brisbane, enables the company to effectively service the bus and coach industry of Australia and New Zealand through its close proximity to rail and road freight terminals.
Coachworks staff have significant industry experience with the senior management and trades supervisors having between 14 and 35 years hands-on experience in trades. The range of skills in Coachworks represents a "technical skill bank" built on relevant experience with all classes of coaches and buses in building, painting, repairing, electrical, retroffiting and refurbishment.
Evan Isaacs - Managing Director/Sales Manager
Evan, along with wife Sue, established Coachworks Pty Ltd in 1989. This experience coupled with Evan's previous 20 years experience with Denning Coaches ensures that the operator is given sound advice and direction when their job is bought to Coachworks. Evan is a Queensland Transport Authorised Officer and takes a keen interest in the industry nationally - attending national conferences and meetings.
Sue Isaacs - Director/Financial Controller
Sue works along side Evan and Scott and controls the businesses finance. Sue has worked in the business since the very beginning when there was no such luxuries as "MYOB" and email for someone in this role.
Scott Isaacs - General Manager
Scott has been with Coachworks since late 1991, previously completing an apprenticeship in "Coach and Motor Body Building" and working with Motor Coach Australia for five and half years. As GM of Coachworks, Scott is on hand at all times to assist operators with all matters from sales enquiries, to progress reports on current work and information on vehicle modifications.
